Each of these buyers invest $50k each (excluding costs e.g. conveyancing, stamp duty and services rendered) and will therefore own 10% of the property and any rental revenue and equity gained throughout the investment period

Although equity in this scenario is shared, group members will begin to enjoy the benefits of a rising property market a lot sooner and make their saving work for them rather than sitting in bank earning next to no interest.
