What is a Buyers Agent?

A Buyers Agent is a licensed real estate agent that works exclusively on behalf of the property buyer (the purchaser).

Buyers Agents offer a range of professional consultancy services that identify and qualify suitable properties, negotiate price, facilitate the completion of transactions.


Just like any sellers agent, Buyers Agents are required, by law to hold a full Class1 real-estate license in order to legally represent their clients through to transaction - a buyer or seller places themselves at risk if they engage the services of an unlicensed and therefore uninsured agent.

In summary, the main distinction between a Buyers Agent and a Sellers Agent lies in their goals.
